Raffan Class Box
I got an opportunity to spend last week turning with Richard Raffan at the Woodcraft of Norfolk/Virginia Beach. Richard put on a week’s workshop covering the essentials of woodturning, bowls, and boxes. He is a joy to work with, an excellent instructor, and has a way of bumping one’s turning skills up in a very short time. This is the last box I did in his two day class. I have admired them for a long time and finally got the chance to turn one in his presence. After all, watching him with his magical skew is what got me to make the commitment to woodturning in the first place. If you haven’t taken a class from Richard then I would encourage you to. If you have, then I would encourage you to take another. I had a wonderful time and I know that much was learned by all. Thanks Richard! Thanks also to Heather and Bill, the owners of the Woodcraft, for investing in the local turners by inviting Richard to put on the workshop! I can’t wait for the next opportunity:)
